 Claire Nicolson is one of Britain’s most exciting singer/songwriters around. After releasing Common Star, her self produced debut album in 2005 to much acclaim, and having supported the likes of Alabama 3, Ed Harcourt, Lemon Jelly, Roy Ayers, The Webb Brothers, Martina Topley Bird (ex Tricky Singer) and Mundy, Claire is now writing and recording her second album due for release in 2008. Her voice has also been singled out to be featured on the second single by northern soulster Andy Lewis in early 2008. The first single off his album sung by Paul Weller. Claire kick started into classical music learning the violin from the age of 5 and the piano, eventually earning her a place at the junior Royal Academy of Music and studied there for 2 years. Before embarking on a solo career Claire started off as a session player/singer, guitarist and keys for the likes of Jools Holland, Mike Oldfield, The Waterboys, Dodgy, Kula Shaker, Sam Brown, Martina Topley Bird, and Melanie C. “This siren will scorch your ears, from near silence to g-force volume.
