LITTLE GEORGE (blues)

- London King of Blues and Rhythm & Blues

London based, Little George has for almost 20 years has been building a
strong reputation for being one of U.K’s finest blues singers & harmonica players,
‘Froots’ magazine recently called him “The New King of London Blues”.

In this time he has been voted ‘Harmonica player of the year’ 4 times and
played with many great American blues artists, Lazy Lester being only one of
many, he was also a member of the British group ‘Big Joe Louis & his Blueskings
for many years.
His love for downhome blues includes the likes of Jimmy Reed, Snooky Pryor.
J.B.-
Hutto & Muddy Waters, not to mention some of the great soul blues artists
like -
Johnnie Taylor, Clay Hammond & Sam Cooke.
This rich blend of fine downhome blues & soul influenced Little George to
have a very unique blend of soulful singing with a tough harmonica style, his
band playing “rough & tumble” Juke Joint style grooves behind him.

In the year 2000 Little George recorded a C.D. for Pussycat Records and had
the great pleasure of having two blues legends to guest with him:- Lazy Lester
& Jimmy Thomas.
This CD was released in the beginning of 2001 and has received high acclaim
from all the music magazines, 'Mojo' magazine made it their "Essential Blues
CD" and included it as one of their top 5 picks of the year!
This album has been a best seller for many stores in the UK and is now
becoming a hit in the U.S.A. which has led to 2 tours of the USA playing major
festivals in California, Arizona & Chicago in 2002 & 2003.
Some of the musicians backing L.G. on the U.S.A. tour include Larry Taylor &
Richard Innes of  Canned Heat & Hollywood Fats, they have played with just
about all California’s greatest!
Little George has also performed for many radio shows, guesting for Charlie
Gillett, John Peel, Jools Holland, Andy Kershaw and Paul Jones, BBC Radio 1
through to Radio4 and recently the BBC televised his show at the ‘Womad
Festival’ a world music event with an attendance of 30,000 plus!

This 4 times award winner has a very downhome style and a unique high
soulful voice of which some people have likened to “Ted Taylor, “J.B. Lenoir”
and even “Little Willie John” against an ‘Excello’ background but whilst
drawing on his many  influences, whether performing an original or covering a
song, he does it his own way!

Over the years Little George Sueref has worked consistently as a professional
Blues musician performing all over the world and with many interesting blues
artists.
